ihtimmy,23pete and rboot read what you posted did more looking tonight then anything else but I only had a hour today in my shop. I luckily had brought a blue ribbon manual when I go my 986 and it also covers 1586, in the book it has the 1586 separate form the rest on the planetary final drives. we also had the tractor jacked up on back with it running and tried braking each side and my son said he saw the left tire just move a little bit and nothing on the right side. so I think of starting to the right side and see what I find, if I have it apart I plan on putting new brakes on and I think will also pull the left side to clean and do that also.
other question I have is getting the shifter into park, it will not go. any thing that's a common problem there or is it one on those thing were you just did into? also I need to get the different PTO unit so when I pull apart I can switch that.
thanks guys
