Just bought a 504 gas, row crop that has set for a few years. Got it running and seems as if the torque is not shifting, stays the same in high or low. Any advice?

Likely the linkage is out of adjustment or the ta clutch is stuck. With the tractor off remove the cover on top of the ta section and move the lever and see if the fingers of the clutch for the ta move.

Yeah, what I found was a hole in the little inspection plate. Then lots of broken parts under it. How much would a torque assembly cost? I really don't want to spend a lot on it so it may be for sale.

It may be the TA pressure plate and small driven friction disk The parts should not be too much ~350.00 (guess) the parts can be purchased from Kevin Meier (posts on here) or others. A TA throwout bearing will also be needed. A single split would fix that (assuming it is the only thing wrong). The tractor will work a long time as is. So if you need it it will be OK. Jim

Thanks, I do not need it, I buy and sell and sometimes repair if the odds look good. Tractor runs good with good power steering and lift, I am just at that crossroad where you make or loose.
