I am beginning the process of rebuilding my Farmall C, starting with the transmission.
I have what I believe are the proper collection of parts to reassemble the countershaft. There is a nut at the treaded end (4221D) at the shaft. The nut I believe to be correct does not not thread on easy by hand. It is a castle nut, but I don't know if the nut I found in my pile of parts is the wrong nut with a different thread, or if it's correct, and an interference locking nut, or what.
Can anyone tell me about this nut? Should this go on difficultly? I plan on getting a thread gauge from the fastener store, which should answer some questions, but I bet you guys could answer it quicker.
Thanks
Kurt
