I am starting to get my winter to-do list figured out on my B. Ever since I have gotten the tractor it has had a grinding whine when the tractor is in neutral, and as soon as I push the clutch in it goes away. It doesn't seem to have too many issues in any of the gears. Is this being caused by the clutch throwout bearing, or the input shaft bearing on the front of the tranny?
I am also new to the tractor splitting world, but if I need to replace the tranny input shaft bearing, am I able to split the tractor right there with everything still attached, or would I need to remove gas tank, battery, etc? Is it harder to put back together with everything still attached?
Thank you!
