826 hydraulics

Will some one explain the two hydraulic pumps on an 826 gear drive and which one is for just the remote hydraulics and three point hitch

The front pump is mounted behind the MCV (multiple control valve) and is for all the tractor controls like steering, TA, brakes and oil cooler and lubrication of trans, TA. The rear pump is strictly for aux hydraulics and hitch and is mounted below clutch pedal area. Filter is on opposite side of that rear pump and serves both pumps. Filter is paper with a screen bypass valve in end of filter so when oil cannot get through the paper filter due to cold thick oil or dirty filter the oil then goes through that screen into inside of filter to pumps.

thank you for the reply. The hydraulics and three point quit working on my 826. I changed filter earlier this year, do not use it much just to put up some hay

There are several reasons for the problem you tell. Drive gear and shaft spline worn out,Rivets broke in Pressure plate, Pump worn out, plugged filter and screen. If the Pto turns then the drive splines are probably good. If no PTO then more than likely the splines are shot.
Take the cover off the bottom and you can see if the shaft is turning or not. Might turn until under load too if not quite totally gone.

thank you for your reply, the PTO works good I changed the filter earlier this summer just use it on a haybine and baler some. Do you have to split the tractor to replace main hydraulic pump? I ordered a repair book from ITT have not received it yet. sorry about the other post I was in to big hurry

I received my ITT repair manuel I will read it a bunch of times till I think I do it. Thanks everybody
