I have a 460D that has a tired D236. I was
gonna rebuild it, but I have a D301 out of
a 715. I know about the rear plate and
front cover having to be changed wheb
converting from combine to tractor, which
isn't a big deal. But correct me if I'm
wrong in stating that the block on a 301 is
"basically" the same as the D236, meaning
that the D301 will directly bolt in place
of the D236? Second question is, if it does
fit, would it be ok to run it on that
tractor governed like a combine? I think
that combine engine is governed at 2650 or
something crazy high like that. I don't
intend on working it to death, or at all,
but I like its size, and would use it as a
wood hauling tractor, maybe a fertilizer
spreader, spraying, drilling tractor.
Thanks
