Can the clutch be changed on an H without splitting it. Seems likeI heard once that it could be done. Thanks for any replies.

I am pretty sure that it can be. Lower the belly hydraulic pump. Then simply work through that hole. I currently have the clutch out of an M. I always thought an M had to be split, but I was wrong on that. However, I think the late production M's have to be split because of a factory change to a larger diameter clutch. But I think all H clutch's can replaced without splitting.

Yes, I have done it more than once. Be prepared for dirt in your face and most likely some skinned knucles.

Note that on reassembly, put in the 4-bolt wavy coupler so there is the MAXIMUM room inside it. Itll go together just fine with the minimum room inside, but the drive shaft will not go inside the pilot bearing and she'll whip around and destroy things.

It can be done, but we found it faster to just split it. First couple we did it took us like 5 - 6 hours start to finish, we could split one, replace the clutch, and have it back together in about 3 - 4 hours. But back then we had the tools and equipment and help to do it that way.
