Char Lynn power steering

If I had a power steering unit for Super M. Can it be tied into the hydraulic pump system or does it need separate pump? If so can a small power steering pump/ reservoir from car be rigged up.

A small car powersteering pump will work that is all I have on old farmalls.Scott

What cars did you use these off of?? I have mounted the GM pumps on M farmalls,sit under the hood nice.

You can also use the Char Lyn unit run off of your hydraulic pump, assuming you have live hydraulics. You just need to add a priority valve. On my SMTA I use tractor hydraulic pump and priority valve. I don't use other hydraulics on tractor much though. I think a separate hydraulic pump is probably a better option if you are goig to use the tractor hydraulics much.
