Finding fittings

Been looking for a fitting/connector to hookup to my touch control filler hole, no luck! Maybe someone will have info on where to find.

Filler threads are 7/8 18nf and need to adapt 3/4npt with a nipple or connector of some sort. Can almost find it but not exact.

Appreciate any help.

Your problem rings a bell with me, like I have been there but I don't remember the details. Have you looked at hydraulic fittings?

Keep in mind that a 7/8 tubing size has a 1 3/16 thread size. A 5/8 tubing size has a 7/8 thread but it is 14 threads instead of 18. I think the 6405 fitting referenced is a 7/8 tubing fitting with a 1 3/16 thread size on the orb side.

When I needed one of these, Discount Hydraulic (or evidently anyone else) did not have the right adapter. Maybe somebody does now. The problem was thread pitch as farmall57 pointed out. (However, I think the thread count problem is the reverse of what he stated.) Recheck your thread pitch and the stated pitch of various available fittings. I ended up making my own using a 5/8 inverted flare tube nut and a few more common items. I got the nut from Discount Hydraulic. Here are the details.

Everything so far has been 14tpi not 18. )c: Did see a few 7/8-18 taps. Jim I checked out that adapter you made, pretty slick! Might go that route if Earl Fauble can't make me an adapter. Napa didn't have that flare nut locally surprising. Thank you everyone for posting.
