Super C mystery bolt

Does this bolt look familiar to anyone? Been doing a complete teardown & re-build on my Super C over quite some time (no Fast Hitch). Mostly back together, but I keep staring at this bolt in with my remaining parts. I painted it along with a bunch of others, but now I'm wondering if it even belongs, or if I'm going to have to split the tractor again and ruin my paint job!

Thanks!

Only one? Been completely through my SC. Does not look familiar. Maybe you had some type of add on that wasn't put back? What about shock on seat.

That's called a pocket bolt. When you're all done with the project, you just put that bolt in your pocket.... sorry. Couldn't resist.

I believe that would be called a "Shoulder Bolt" and bottoms out on the shoulder leaving whatever is held on by the shoulder or larger section to move somewhat freely. I have been using and around Farmall since the 1950's and I have never seen an IH bolt made like that. That does not mean that it isn't IH. It looks like the bolts used to hold shredder or stalk cutter blades to the center bar . . . but not large enough unless the larger shaft is about 3/4 to 7/8 inch and the smaller end would be about 1/8" smaller. The bolts used on Servis 60 shredders looked a lot like that.

Having completely torn down a Super A, I did not see any such bolt. While knowing the main differences between a Super C and a Super A, my guess is that, even if the bolt is a factory original component, it is unlikely that you would need a split.
Good luck.

As someone else took a guess at it, it is the bottom bolt for the shock absorber on the seat. It goes in the bottom hole in the bracket on top of the seat mount. My Super C has one just like it.
