Super C Pesko Hydro pump

Been restoring my 51 Super C. Hydraulics worked fine before, with no leaks or anything. Did re-build the Touch Control block. Still wanted to clean/inspect the pump before re-assembly onto tractor. All looked good. Hard to gauge by explanation here, but holding the pump in one hand, and turning drive wheel with the other, there's quite a resistance. Should this be that tight, or should it free-wheel? Took it apart & re-assembled multiple times with same result.

THings inside are spring loaded. Taking it apart and putting it together multiple times is not in its best interest. Put it on and prime it with about 5 psi in the reservoir. Jim

Some resistance is normal. Be sure to replace the shaft seal while off and apart.
