Throttle.....AJB830.......

On my last post you posted a pic of your Grey W-30; does it have the "throttle governor" as you call it? I see it has an oil filter; Well mine has the "throttle governor" which I would like to keep but now that I have installed the oil filter assembly- my throttle shaft hits the filter housing; do I need to go back to the original throttle lever? If so I will need to find the linkage under the tank and so on...... Thanks.

you dont have the correct filter housing then, as there is about an inch of space from the filter canister to the rod.

its going to be "correct"......I paid $80 for this from Fordson House- made all new steel lines...and it is ready to gin...... somehow its going to work. Thanks.

Yes, there should be more than enough room for the throttle rod to fit between the oil filter and the block. Post a picture of the filter you have and I can compare it to the one on my W30. I believe mine has an original oil filter that came with the tractor. Was yours missing the filter? I thought all W30s came equipped with oil filters. Al

Yes...no filter canister on this tractor when I bought it- so I added the filter. The rod from the lever on the right fender does not go between the housing and the block; but straight forward to the throttle shaft(governor)...... I will post a pic about 9-10 am....coffee time right now. lol...Is it possible to use the original throttle shaft? You say it only has two positions? I wouldn't like that. Thanks.

That looks like the correct oil filter for a W30 tractor. Using the original throttle rod would not change the governor to the old style with just two speeds. There are changes internal to the governor that are done when they are converted. From your picture, it appears your governor has a slightly different hook-up then mine. Mine seems to have a lever that the throttle rod is connected to. I think there were several after market manufactures, like M&W, who made these conversions. The one on my 22-36 is different from the one on my W30. If I get out to my hobby farm tomorrow, I will take a couple of detailed pictures of how my W30 governor is hooked up. The attached picture maybe of some help.
