Been looking for deal on pull type disk. What size do you pull behind Super M? Just found deal on 10'. This thing pulls 6' like it's not even there in 3rd gear.

10 or 12ft.Some guys report being able to pull 14'. Depends on what you are disking. Stubble pulls easier than freshly plowed ground. Soft ground may require duals for traction.Better a disk that's too 'small' than a bigger one that pulls the crap out of your tractor.same way with a plow.

I got a old no 47, with the 12 inch long cylinder for low pressure tractors, I pull that with my M in 3rd, or 2nd with Super MTA.Plus i got 10 John Deere 100# suitcase weight on it.I thinks it's a 13.5 foot, It was a bigger disk with the wings off,so it's got the dual 14 inch tires on it,Paid 350 for it, i think, many years ago.I can even shift up a gear in hard ground, like corn stalks.

Dad traded a straight M for a Super M-TA back in 1960, upgraded disk from 9 ft early Kewanee to 14 ft Krause, just a bit too much disk. Was O-K disking old corn stalk ground but disking plowed ground had to have duals on and carry a bit of weight on transport wheels on disk. I would not go wider than 12 ft.

Krause disk got traded for a new 12 ft 4 inch Kewanee with 20 inch rippled blades pulled with a 450 gas. It played with the 12 ft in stalk ground, sometimes ran in 4th gear on flat ground, 3rd gear easily in plowed ground with the disk sunk up to the hubs, with duals of course.
