Well I know I'm out of place here. I posted over on dozer forum but I have gleaned much from you Farmall guys on here I trust. I'm looking at
purchasing 96 D3c that has blown 3046 motor. Dozer seems in really good shape otherwise.

Anyone know how much trouble getting these engines out? Looks like whole top side including dash has to come out.

And also what's good source for reman engines? This one has hole in block and probably damaged crankshaft. I'd prefer purchase rebuilt
one.

In the meantime. Today's progress.

I can't recall the process for getting it out, but we did a swamped one, and I'm thinking we had the dash out, but been a long time. Pretty sure that's a Mitsubishi engine, and it seems like the parts were either hard to find or expensive for what they were. Like I said though, been probably 10 years since I did one, and 6 years out of that field.
