I know Old and Delta Red are against this, but my new starter gave up the ghost last weekend at a tractor pull. I was using the starter to move the tractor around so I could take some the weights off. One of the guys in the pulling club said to send it to a guy and he will change it over to 12 volt. I have been wanting to do that anyway. The picture is what it cost to do that and what he used to switch it over. Just in case you ever were curious what it costs.

I'm not against changing over to a 12 volt starter. I just wouldn't do it till the old one went up in 'smoke'.

Me also why fix what isn't broken till it is broken. Now as for if it cost more for a 12 volt over a 6 volt that might also make it as to which way I would go. If a 12 volt one cost say $20 more I would most likely say with 6 volts unless the warranty said it would be void if used with 12 volts
