pitman arm - farmall mower

Broke a pitman arm. I think the mower is a A-16 mounted on an A farmall, hand lift. I forgot to measure the length. I dug around the farm and found a pitman arm from a binder I believe so I could likely trim it down, redrill the holes and make it work.

But it would be nice to just buy one. Tractor Supply has a universal pitman arm, 37 1/2" long. Anyone know what the length of a C-16 pitman arm is?

just a piece of hard wood. ash or hickory. saw mill can size one for you and then you can trim to fit. they want $20 - $20 for one. dimensions i do
not have. i have dimensions for cub pitman (probably short. reckon pitman from 140 farmall would be the same?

When done, be SURE to check knife "register" and adjust, if necessary.

It won't cut well and the new "stick" will work a lot harder if "out of register".

(quoted from post at 06:18:18 10/21/17) the wood on mine is 35 1/8 long. Bob

Thanks Bob for the measurement. I’ll give it a try and maybe I can just drill holes to shorten it up. At least I have the old one as a pattern. Worth a try!
