Hi, put many hours on a B414 Diesel and it's successor 434 and 384. Can only comment on the Diesel version. Very simple and rugget tractor.
It has a dual stage clutch, depress clutch half way and transmission stops all the way and both transmission and PTO stop.
There is an inspection plate under the clutch housing that can be removed to look at the clutches but really can't see much except throwout bearing and pressure plate fingers..
Diesel engine has glow plug start and there are newer model glow plugs that work muck better.
Brakes sometimes require cleaning the disks become glazed and shiny and the ramp and rollers require cleaning.

Assuming the clutch will not release (push it down and it keeps going, or the trans won't stop to allow shifting) it can be from simple driving it around with the pedal clamped down, to splitting it to get it free. I would buy it in a heart beat. But I am a Mechanic, and have the tools. Having it split and fixed might cost near the 200 dollar level for labor. Jim

A friend of mine had the same problem with a 384 and he solved it by towing it with the clutch pedal tied down. The clutch soon released once towing commenced. Another friend had the same problem with a B414 and also towed it to get it released. I have never had that problem with my B414 gas.
