Torque Amplifier Parts

For the NOVICE the best way to work on them is BUY a rebuilt unit , The only hard pqart to doing this job correctly in installing the one seal correctly and then placing the carrier unit in thru that seal with out cutting the seal or rolling the lip of that seal over . as many have done then wonder why they now have oil running out where there is no oil and should remain dry . There use to be a tool that you placed over the threads on the carrier that would staart that seal lip over the threads and SHARP shoulder to the seal surface and made life somuch easier . I know how frustrated i use to get when doing them till i found one . Having all the toys/ tools to do these jobs make life somuch easier .

2nd this one.

When rebuilding my 1466, I actually just hauled the center section to Leaman's and they handled it all for me soup to nuts. He installed new gears, bearings, seals, T/A, turned flywheel, new hydraulic pump, new clutch assembly, etc. All in a day (of course I scheduled it ahead with him since I was coming in from NC). Very pleased.

I spoke with Leamans yesterday. They are about 1.5 hrs from me so I think I will take my entire ta housing to them and they are going to go thru and check everything for me. Even said I could work with the guy and he would show me how to check them and rebuild and install them. Seem like great guys to do buisness with and reasonable prices. Thanks jim.

"Seem like great guys to do buisness with and reasonable prices" - You got that spot on. I was able to schedule mine so when I brought mine up from NC to PA, they were literally waiting/expecting me. Organized. He explained and showed me what he replaced and showed even why. I feel like I could do a commercial for them....I'm that pleased.

Let us know how it goes for you.
