Oil in pulley assembly

How do you check the oil and change it in the flat belt pulley gear box assembly?

that is supposed to get oil from transmission. When changing transmission oil it is recommended to put some in the plug on the top just to make sure it has oil to start with

Oh ok, is it a good idea to run the pulley every once in awhile to keep the gears lubricated fully or is that not necessary?

It gets enough splash from the transmission gears below to give it all the lube it ever needs.
