MARK W., RE: SA Steering Shaft Threads

I measured the threads on my SA steering shaft and then took off for the day without any further thought. After thinking about it, if you haven't already done the job, it would be best to clean the threads up with a thread chaser die rather than a common thread cutting die. The cutting die will remove any metal that is in the way and may leave shallow or thin threads in a high stress area. Tread chasers are designed to restore threads with what metal is there without removing any more.
