trying to remove a broken steering arm off a 756 International. wondering how to remove the front bolt under the radiator. we have the 2 back bolts removed from turning the steering wheel either direction. the third front bolt is bottoming out, can't screw all the way out underneath where its bolted. any help would be very much appreciated. thank you

you may need to loosen the 4 bolts holding the casting for the front axle to get the clearance needed to get the other bolts out. Will want to jack up front end some and block first though.

thank you for the reply. that is what we were thinking we have to do as the only way it may work. we tried loosening one of those bolts a powerful cordless impact driver in the field but it wouldn't budge. we had it jacked up some but never blocked it. I suspect there is tremendous weight bearing down on those bolts from the front end. I was thinking this is the route we may have to go though some how.

Get someone with a portable welder out there to weld it back together and reinforce it right on the tractor, so you can get it back to the shop. Heck if you make a good enough repair you probably won't want to waste your time replacing it.

It's way less work to weld it back together than it is to try and figure out how to get all those seized bolts out of the front end.

Been there done that. You're going to have to remove the 4 bolts holding the bolster to the tractor. You should not have to remove the stay ball/socket. It should pivot enough. Then Jack up the tractor to allow enough clearance. Then get a heavy 1/2"(or 3/4") breaker bar and socket. That will get the bolt out. Remember to securely block the tractor so it wont fall off the jack and kill you!Work safe!

thank you all for the great responses. very appreciative for the input. we were thinking that we would likely have to do what you guys are suggesting by loosening those 4 bolts enough to get the clearance to remove the third bolt on the steering arm. also welding it back together crossed my mind, good suggestion if enough to get it to a shop. thanks again for the thoughtful advice.
