Got the M, just need some help

So I got the M and it's amazing. Runs beautifully and has great oil pressure. Everything works as it should. The only problem is that it looks like the input shaft seal on the transmission leaks a little. Now I heard that to replace it you don't have to split the tractor, but I thought you had to. So do you have to or no? And does anyone know of a good video or instructions on how to do it? Also in the mean time can I put some type of stop leak in it? Thanks

I did mine years ago. You have to take out the belly pump if you have one and removed the drive shaft. Can't remember if I removed the oil. Don't remember what the coupling was to the drive shaft - might be
screwed on. Might be reverse threat. I'm sure some guys will answer that has done it more recently. I do remember hoping I would never have to do it again.

So you didn't have to split the tractor? I'd prefer not to do that if possible lol

I just did a H. Both shafts and new brgs on trans input. Pulled belly pump and split clutch shaft. Have to drain oil to do pump drive seal. most fun was getting yoke off input shaft.

Sounds a lot better than what I thought it'd be

Heres a pic under that little shield. It's leaking from the shaft thats way up there. I think thats the transmission input shaft isn't it?

I'd replace all the seals in there or do it twice like I did. With a helper and a floor jack you can drop the pump in no time. I threw some scrap iron together for the top of the jack to do it myself.
