Used the burnt IH584 today

So I do not have all the hyd leaks found and fixed but I did use it today. Moved a bit of gravel on my drive way. Did find out that with out any thing on the 3 point it would spin pretty easy but I expected that. Did finally get some hyd fluid flowing out of the pipe that is suppose to go the brake reservoir and I do not know if this will work or not but for now I hook a hose from the pipe to one of the brake master cylinders. Still has a leak below the steering wheel and one at the power steering cylinder but the one at the steering cylinder seems to come and go. I did pretty good other then the leaks. While the loader bucket is about the same as the one on my Ford 841S is seem to have enough more power to fill the bucket before it spins out even with out something on the 3 point. I did put a 6 foot disk on the 3 point plus a wheel weight and a heavy bolt on hub for a B on the disk so it should be a good bit of weight which I think will help. Got dark before I could try it with the disk on

Well done Old, I used to sell the 74 series and the 84 series when I worked for an IH dealer here in the UK. I took a lot of 100 series MF tractors in part exchange because they were so outdated and had a poor cab with just a flexible cladding and the IH tractors had a far better cab with steel panels with glass in the panels and doors. Not all of them. I burnt from the head up so hood radiator and such hoses burned but pretty much any thing below the head is/was still just fine

Even with out any thing on the 3 point it did do surprisingly good. I just hope with the disk and all the weight I have on the disk it will do better. I still have an issue with the throttle and it not staying at operating speed it just wants to idle and if I try to bring the RPM up it just goes back to an idle but I think the friction disk in the throttle linage is gone due to the heat of it burning

Hi Old, there is a friction disk under the dash to hold the throttle in place.

See the link below item 21 and 22 and tighten lock nut item 28.
It is a bit of a pain to tighten that nut. But in your case the heat may have destroyed the friction disk.

(quoted from post at 16:12:13 10/14/17) Wow! I cant believe you are using your equipment when it needs repaired!

If I did not use equipment that leaked a little I would never get anything done. He is in the middle of fixing it after it burnt. Sometimes you need to use it a little to chase things down.

Well how else does one find what is wrong if they do not use it????????????? Some stuff on this will take time and $$ to fix but as is it can still be used for things my other loader tractor does not handle as well

From what I can see the fiction disk is pretty much toast. I did use an old pair of vise grips latter today to hold it at a higher RPM which did help a good bit

Shoot if I didn't use machine that leak or have some other type problem I would never get any thing done. Many of the machine I use are fence row once dead that I have pulled out and worked on till I could make them work. Many I have fixed and tried to pass on to other people but found that does not work well when you have guys that do not listen to what there told and you tell them to listen to what it sounds like and if that sound changes stop and check what is going on. Have one friend I have all but given up on as for fixing machine for because he will not do as I say and he does not listen to what a machine is doing so he can break any thing in les then 5 minutes, but yet I can run the same machine all day long and have no problems
