Internal Engine & Head Parts - Where to Buy at Good Pric

Where do you guys get your internal parts? I have several tractors to rebuild the heads and called about the valvetrain components for a IH 424 gas (C-146 engine) and the machine shop said they can't get the parts (discontinued with their supplier). I checked with this site and they have them for over $160 for the valvetrain set. external link has the set for $150. I will go with them if nothing else available, but I know they get theirs from somewhere and i know they've got that kit marked up pretty good. Would be nice to find the parts much more reasonable so the total labor and parts cost at the machine shop doesn't eat me alive. Especially since I'm wanting to rebuild around 5 heads every couple of months. I also tried RockAuto.com already and no go.

Where do you guys get this stuff?

These are parts for a low number engine. It fits many models like the 140 and others. I just know an engine shop will build a head for $250 there has to be cheaper parts somewhere. This one will be nearly $400 after I get the parts. Another shop quoted $250 but it's too late for that
 
Well that is cheap, Ya want and education on price of rebuilding a head do a D361 and hand over better then a grand . Ya want to play with toys and fix them it is going to dig into your PIGGY BANK. Ya want the job done correctly it is going to cost you and yes in today's world a lot of older parts are being done away with .
