Buddy Seat for BN

I'm getting ready to fab up a buddy seat for my new to me BN. I've picked up a floor plate from an A which is the same size as the BN. Does anyone have some pictures of a buddy seat floor on a B or BN? Interested in how others handled the modification around the axle tube.

Most guys just add a second set of seat brackets on the left side and run the bubby seat across or add a complete second seat.

That is my plan as well as far as the seat is concerned. Was more interested in what others have done with their floor plate adjustments.

I moved the left support over to the left side then made a frame to cover the whole thing used 6in hi dens foam and had it covered then added a back resst works just fine made a guard rail for the left side and a step you will like it.

If you can "borrow" a second platform from someone, take it and set it - upside down - on the platform you have. That will give you an idea of what you need to "trim" off your platform for the left side (the axle side) to fit. I think you'll also need to trim a little off the back of the platform, since there is no notch in the front of the left axle housing for it. The seat and brackets should fit just like they do on the right side.

You will need to trim the floor plate to fit at the rear. Take one bolt out where the fender fits the diff housing and then you can bolt it back up. Clen the threads so you can bolt the side to the tranny and another bolt will go in the fender towards the front of the fender. You will have it bolted 4 places when done. Add a step and guard rail on top of the fender for safety.Step can be added to the housing on the fender side adn make another bracket on the drivers side add a 2x12 all across making a step for both sides. The wide seat and back rest for finish and you are first class you will love it. The 6in heavy foam makes a great seat and two kids can ride in style. I even have a safety belt because of our rules for tractor rides realy makes it kid proof.

Michrr714 Contact Owosso Tractor parts for some pictures. Bob should have several. For Those tractors as several have been used for that purpose when crossing the Mackinaw bridge ride each year. You will want either a step on the front side for access to the tractor on the left or you have to step over the seats all the time. Most of them I have seen had a set up like on the right side just moved to the left. Matching seats and all.
