Ok, more info, (you made me look closer, Thank you), Neither one has a tag, both have 3 brushes, the one in the pic with the big pulley has 130 cast into one of the mounting flanges, also an old "remanufactured" sticker on it and someone etched Delco 1100501 in the case.
The one with the small pulley has 391 cast into one flange, and 26 RPM in an other one.
I also have a third gen, tag is stamped Delco 1101355 7019, it has a big pulley, 3 brushes, and what I guess is the cutout relay mounted on it.

There is currently no wiring on the tractor, it has a magneto, what I want to do is, rewire it 6 volt, generator, remote mounted regulator, with a 3 position switch, do I have to find a 2 brush generator?

Any further help is much appreciated.

What is the purpose of the 3 pos switch? If you use a cutout, you would need a 4 pos switch with L, H, B, D, positions. If you use a true voltage regulator, you only need a 2 pos switch. B, D, for lights as the L, and H functions are now being done by the regulator.

Isn't a 3 position switch OFF - DIM - BRIGHT? If you read my post you answered you saw that I am going to use a regulator and not a cutout relay. Now, how about the generator, 2 brush, or 3 brush with the REGULATOR? 2 right, or did they only make 3 brush generators?

couple things here adrian,

Both of those should be three brush generators unless they have been changed.

Don't know if it matters but the pulleys will NOT interchange between generators. The one with the small pulley has a short shaft armature and is likely from a later tractor such as 100,140,SH/300 etc, and the one with the adjustable pulley is a long shaft.

Three position light switch with a voltage regulator. O D B

NAPA has a6 volt positive ground regulator with a curved bracket to mount on top of the generator in place of the cutout part # VR850. With the hood on no one will know there is not a cutout up there. This regulator works well with 3 brush generators.
