CaseIH 4210 block heater

So my CaseIH 4210 is a great tractor,
and it's become the primary forklift
tractor, but with winter coming I would
like to install a block heater, trouble
is CaseIH shows it as unavailable and
says it's been superceded yet doesn't
give a part number or anything. Don't
seem to see any listed aftermarket so a
little frustrated here but figured
someone must have went thru this before
as these tractors are notoriously cold
blooded.

If it has a water line somewhere you can get one at a farm store. If you find a freese plug you can probably insert one there. I have done both to different tractors in the past.

I really don't care for external heaters, there must be a block heater available if CaseIH offered one originally

Do you have the old one? Take it into the dealer- they really shouldn't need it though. The cord part no. is #A44813 ; Goes into the front upper LH side of the block. Shows the heater not available- but you can match it or find one.

It currently doesn't have one, wish case ih would atleast give an old number or superceded number

Almost every one of the tractors of this series that I have seen has the heater in the lower hose. And later models start well down to about 25* or so.But ,they do like a heater better! These are factory installed. We sell them where I work.
An older model like a 574 will be harder to start at 40*,and would need plugged in.You can put a timer in line with your heater, and set it to come on about 2-3hrs before you want to use it and it will start great with just the bottom hose heater.I know of some 585s that have over 10,000 hrs that are started for winter feeding that have the original bottom hose heater.
If you don't want that,my next suggestion would be a circulating heater. It mounts on a bracket, and has hoses going to an upper and lower port in the block and head. They will heat an engine the fastest.Mark

Interesting, I figured since they showed one in the parts listing that was what they were originally setup for but I guess maybe I will consider a lower hose heater if that's what many came with.

They used ether injector as factory cold start.

Had a recirculating heater on a 495 since brand new, was dealer installed.

I just looked it up on partstore.caseih.com. It is available, part number is 130085C91, and costs $83 from my local CaseIH dealer:

"KIT - service, engine heater (4210/4230/4240), Includes: Ref. 43 and 44"
