350 Utility?

Here's pics of my 350 Utility with the straight front axel.

Looks like a production axle from a Farmall. The cutout on the bolster casting looks like it has been modified. Mine has a clear slot with straight sides front and back. Jim

It may be the angle of the picture. However, it looks to me like the axle isn't centered in the original notch of the bolster bracket. Bracket looks like it was right for a swept back axle. Seems to confirm my earlier suggestion and what JAN said that the axle got transplanted from something else.

Makes me wonder why anyone would transplant a straight axle. Took a lot of work to do so. What would have been the advantage?

Swept back axles are less common, and there may have been a straight axle at hand. Cast Iron does not flame cut well at all. The notch looks a little gnawed out. Jim

Straight front axles are preferred on loader tractors for better rear wheel traction and lower loads on the front axle.

Tractor is for sale. I put a new clutch and TA in and new bearings in the steering gear box, everything works. Runs perfect.

I bought a 350U many years ago, that trcator is STILL my right arm.
I would buy another good one anytime.
