International 350 Steering Adjustment

I have a 350 with manual steering. I can turn the steering wheel at least a half a turn before the front tires start to move. Is there something I can do to adjust this and take the play out of the steering wheel? Or is it more probable that there is something more serious wrong in the steering box, like a broken gear?

Thanks,
BRENT

I doubt it's a broken gear, now a WORN gear... maybe. Maybe needs adjusting. I'll let the ones who know more take over from here.

There is a spiral cam in the box with a follower that can wear badly that rides in the cam groove. I give that cam and follower the most likely problem. There is no
external adjustment. Jackson Power Steering has Kits to replace the original weak components (pricey but the real thing). Jim

Is the tractor definitely an "International"? That would make it a utility and the reply Jim gave you applies to that tractor. If it is a "Farmall" 350 row crop style the steering system is completely different.
