Pto lever on my 1950 farmall h has a lot of play in it and it doesn't engage very securely. After running the brush hog for a few minutes it disengages. If I hold the lever down with my foot all is fine. This is my first tractor so not extremely knowledgeable. What could be worn? Is it the bearing or shift mechanism inside? Any help is appreciated.

There's a spring loaded poppet that keeps the PTO in gear, spring is probably getting weak or the ball that
engages the depression is deteriorating.

What part/parts would that be?

Depends on the engine serial number break. Search case ih parts diagram, like click here is #10 in diagram. On my 200 I made a poppet out of same diameter round stock. Grind the end like a bullet.
