560 touch control

I can't keep my swather header up even with tractor running. It is not leaking in swather cylinders as they are single acting and not leaking, has to be in touch control. seems like it has gotten worse over time. What is it in the touch control valve that needs to be replaced to keep it from leaking down? I have the parts and service books. Does the spring #12 in parts book, get weak to allow this or upper or lower unlatching valves. I have an extra valve I can install but want to make sure it is going to hold before I put it in. There is no check valve in the system.

Sorry, no parts in valve to help you out. The spool fit to bore holds the load. Options, different valve, larger hydraulic cylinder, two way cylinder and then you could add a check valve if needed. A larger cylinder will require much less pressure in cylinder to hold the load and the combination of greater volume that it would have to leak to lower equipment same amount your smaller single action cylinder moves, might just do the trick.

thanks for the help, I do have another valve I can try, cylinders are build in to swather so not much way to change that. It has gotten bad enough I raise it all the way up and run to the back to put blocks in, and have to raise again to get other side done. I suppose I could put a shutoff valve in that line, will try other valve first
