fast hitch questions

ok have a 240 u with a big point fast hitch. i cant figure out how to get down pressure on the hitch. here is a quick video of the hitch lowering. there is nothing for the cylinder to push against to get down pressure. second question, i have quit a bit front to rear movement on the hitch. when backing up with the bush hog, the pto shaft bottoms out, not a good thing. where the wishbone attaches to the belly of the tractor, there is a lever or rod, whatever you want to call it with a hole in it. i dont see anywhere where this attaches underneath. am i missing a few parts???

There is a link missing from that lever at the front anchor to the draft control. There is also a through pin under the cylinder that pins the bottom of the cylinder to the cross bracket. IIRC it is 3/4 Inch. Look the hitch up on caseih.com It may be more than one piece missing. An interim solution is to make a bar that located the front "arm" solid. and put in the pin. Jim

Agree linkage for traction control mechanism is missing causing all the movement. Also, along with the pin being out of the lower cylinder lift mechanism, the tractor has to be equipped with a double action check valve if you have teledepth valve. Not sure if early models all had the double acting check valve on that model but all 4 & 560 early tractors only had a single acting check valve. They would lift a load but not hold it. Was a jack rabbit. My former employer was showing his first sold 560 tractor to the buyer and he was really upset when he tried to show the feature of being able to lift the tractor. If I remember right, he was on the phone right quick to IH.

it does have the double action check valve, it will hold the hitch in any position you want. anybody got any pictures of what i am missing???

522918R1 is the pin that goes in traction control to allow down pressure. Shown in online parts catalog. Just a note, a single action check valve will hold the load on hitch UP but will not hold down pressure. It will allow down pressure, if pin etc is installed correctly, but hitch will correct constantly and rapidly, thus hopping. Other linkages are all shown also. (I don't know how to provide a link URL or what ever you call it).

Looks like all you need is a 3/4" pin at the bottom of the cylinder
to hold the casting from pivoting up.
Pin goes through the hole in casting where cylinder mounts.
