IH584 PTO control

So this once way to hot 584 had a PTO control that would not move. So I took the linkage loose and checked to see if the plunger would push in and it did very easy. So I then took my little crescent wrench 18 inch by the way and tried to move the control and while it did move hard it did move. Worked it a bit and it freed up so I can now move it by hand. I guess the cross shaft got hot enough that is got stuck and then would not move

Old, Good news, one step at a time.
You said the 584 was burnt due a lightening strike, was it in a building that caught fire from the lightening strike or did the lightening strike the 584?

It was sitting out side about 20 foot from a building. The loader bucket was on the ground. I my self do not see how a lightning strike would do what it is said it did but That is what the former owner was told happened but he was not home when it happened and a neighbor told him about it

Its hard to tell where lighting hit because that place is not there any more! :shock:
