IH M head tepair

I would think you could call JP tractor salvage 573-783-7055 Get a shop gone through 8060 head for cheaper than you can fix yours.

Agreed. Not worth attempting a repair that's going to be sketchy at best when there were about 350,000 tractors made with compatible heads.

If you insist, start by locating and contacting local engine shops to pick their brains and see if they know of anyone.

dave check out precision engine rebuilders in plainfield il. they did the head for my fergusen to20.

I agree, I wouldn't waste money on a repaired (welded) head. Either get a good used one or a new one. They are not that expensive now. IMO

http://midwestcylinderhead.com/videos.php but if it's just a regular head it might be cheaper to buy one on ebay .

If all else fails I got one in Northern Ill., little west of Rockford. I bought a Super M with a weak running engine and very noisy rocker arms. Never touched it all winter, eased the oil plug out in the spring, no antifreeze in the oil or oil in the radiator, found a busted center cam brg. web so bought a used engine. The head needs seats, valves, guides and springs, don't see any cracks.

After my experience with a Allis Chalmers head and Midwest cylinder head in Nevada Iowa, I would never recommend anyone taking anything there. Find a used 1 and have a valve job done.
