Dead starter switch?

Well I fired up the A, started right up
ran good on 1/4 choke I assume that is a
idle adjustment. Started 2 more times fine.
On the third I cranked it and nothing then
the starter wouldn't turn over... I'm
guessing I toasted the switch, looked damn
near original... any ideas

Back to the starter switch, I did have an issue with my Super A where the copper headed "bolt" (contact pad) under the rocker switch had a groove worn in it, apparently from many starts. I was having problems with the starter motor which I attributed to the lack of good contact.

I was trying to put off a rebuild of the starter motor due to other expenses, so I slotted (with a file) the hold-down screws for the rocker switch, moving it forward very slightly, lets say 1/16" for lack of actual precise measurement. Then tightened the screws.

This has worked very well, I still know I have to rebuild the starter at some point, but since I resolved the contact issue, it has plenty of torque to do the job, the weak link was in delivering the current.
