Farmall 340

Would a Farmall 340 make a good pulling tractor. Looking to pull 4000-5500 lb antique classes.

A 340 has a small engine that could be taken bigger with serious mods or replacement with a 153cid combine engine, but an H in the same approximate category starts with that displacement and much bugger tires and weight distribution. Jim

Put a 153 out of a combine, put 38" tires on back. you can use H rims and weld tabs off of your 36" rims and get her down to 3500 and 4000 and you will be surprised. Look up Cliff Stutgart and see how competitive his tractor is.
