Mr Jim, just letting you know I posted on page two what I found on gauge(charging system)....if you would check please. Thanks.
 
The reason I thought it had a mag is that you indicated one wire from the amp gauge to the light switch, and one to the regulator. That leaves no wire going to the ignition switch. So I made that assumption. A mag on-off switch is grounded and has its wire as a grounding wire to the mag points. I could not find current voltage readings in that post, or if you waved a magnet near the needle on the meter. Jim
 
ok.... I know gauge is ok - its new. And also it shows charge when I ground the field. Busy day here; have done nothing yet that was planned when I got up. Now on to my things...I will try to get back on this with you by evening; thanks for helping me. :)
 
Okay, + on gauge goes to starter switch. "L" on gauge goes to regulator on Genny - Batt post. Field on genny to Field on regulator. Arm post goes to post underneath regulator. Battery voltage is 6.25. Make sense?
