Farmall C belt pulley gear backlash

Does anyone have the official setup/install instructions for the belt pulley? What is the specification for the amount of backlash in the bevel gears? I've done quite a bit of searching and have found several threads about the belt pulley assemblies and the shims but I haven't found any that specifically state actual backlash numbers per Farmall.

Thanks,
Aaron

Don't have any detailed info but from my experience I would say if you have around 5 thousandths you would be good. You are not talking a turbine engine here.

Thanks for the info. I did read something in the forum yesterday that made me feel a little sick to my stomach. I learned that these belt pulley setups do swap between the A, B, C, 100, and 200 models, HOWEVER, there are two different bevel gear sets. There are straight tooth gears and helical tool gears. My C was missing the belt pulley setup when I bought it, but it did have the bevel gear on the end of the shaft from the PTO. I bought a belt pulley setup a week ago, but at that time I didn't know anything about the two different bevel gear sets nor did I look very closely to the one on the tractor. I got very very lucky. The gear on the tractor is a bevel and so was the gear on the belt pulley setup I bought. This could have easily gone the other way. So, be warned. Look at your gears BEFORE you buy a belt pulley assembly (or any other gear assembly for that matter).
