Really dumb question

OK....I am almost too embarrassed to ask this, but I have looked everywhere for my owner's manual and can't find it. Is the 1/2 inch pipe plug on the side of the T/A the overfill check point when filling the transmission? Ellis

The answer depends on the tractor model and maybe year!

One on side near clutch linkage and another the same level near where center housing spreads out for flywheel on a SMTA. Oil level will equalize to the same level after a while. If oil was drained from all there drains it is sometimes slow making it to front part of the T/A housing on refill.

Thanks much for the quick info. I had 4, 5 gal. pails of Cat. hydraulic oil so that is what I used. It is supposed to be really good. Ellis
