T-6 engine size casting ground off

Just acquired a T-6 crawler. The engine has taken on water and needs to be pulled down. The engine size on right upper rear block has been ground off and numbers 6829 has been stamped in the area.
The serial number on the boss above the magneto is TBKM7434 T1.
What is the reason for grinding off the block size? Different sleeves/pistons? Past rebuild changes? Thanks, Jim.

Only time Ive seen that is when its an IH replacement engine. That wouldnt have the serial number on it unless someone stamped it
on there. Does it match the serail number of the crawler?

John, The crawler serial number is TBK 29695 so no match to the engine. Thanks for the reply. Jim.

I've seen that on my U-2 power unit. The casting number on the head is ground off and another number stamped in. There must be some
revision as compared to the normal head for a c113 engine.
