Farmall A or B hood upgrade question

I have a 1940 Farmall B with a hood that is held on with 4 quarter turn screws. The newer hoods are held on with J shaped spring pull down latched. Will the newer hoods with the spring pull down latches fit the older tractors?

Many consider the Dzus fasteners to be the "upgrade" or a desirable feature.

No not without making changes. There are no fasteners on the radiator for them to hook. You will also need to make some for the gas tank. Do you want to buy one thats made for your tractor.

Listen to Gene. It would take a lot of modifications to make it work.

Besides, it would ruin one of the distinctions of an earlier model tractor.

I have seen where they ground off the reciever part and then removed the male parts then used common bolts but its always nice to keep original with a tractor that age. You could get special order over size heads machine them flatter and put the grouve in the head and no one would know the difference if you didnt tell.
