IH 504 Utility Wheel Spacing

Considering an IH 504 Utility.

Can anyone tell me what the minimum and maximum wheel tread center to center spacing is?

Pros and Cons of the 504 Utility?

Information will be appreciated.

I have had a 340U and have a 460U. IIRC, both of the front ends have two discrete positions for the front axle track width that's made with bolts. However on the 340U someone had gotten a lot of welding practice making sure nobody would ever adjust the track width again. Even without that "repair" it looked like a Kroil and torch job to get the tubes able to telescope again, if they had been sitting in one position for a long time. Sorry I can't quote actual numbers.

Pros and Cons of the 504 Utility?
Con for me , reverse is very slow, I used mine to re arrange my snow.
Con, when I had mine pistons were not real easy to find.
Pro, I like the hydraulics. Good pressure and volume.
Pro, less reservoirs to add oil to.
This is compared to my 350 U.

Assuming the rear wheels are indeed adjustable, and depending on the tire size, I believe you should be able to achieve 60" to 84" center to center on the rear wheel tread in 4" increments. That's pretty typical of an IH tractor.

Sometimes these tractors come with non-adjustable rear wheels and you're stuck with whatever they are.

I looked in a brochure for a 340 Utility. It lists rear wheel tread as adjustable from 48 to 76 inches with regular wheels, 50 to 78 inches with power adjust.

I don't know that the 504 Utility is the same, but it probably is. I would expect a Farmall version of a 504 to allow wider settings.
