Float spring installation

Sorry for the dumb question but it's been years since my last carb rebuild and the carb was disassembled before I got it. How does the spring attach to the float? Zenith carb for an A/super a
 
I have never seen a spring attached to a float. A tiny clip to assist in pulling the needle down is used loosely around the needle blunt end groove, and under the float tab. Jim
 
This is another reason I recommend the Walker brand carb kits I get at O'Reilly's auto [parts. The kit comes with very good instructions so any body who can read can rebuild a kit
