Farmall B and C

I am going to look at buying a Farmall B and Farmall C off someone I bought a John Deere B off of years ago. He told me they are
rolling and just need a few thing put back together . The C needs the gas tank and linkage reinstalled
and The B he had rebuilt at a good machine shop in his area. I know the owner as someone who would not rip me off. He is having a auction at the end of the month but I can buy these before hand. He told me he would take $2000 for both. Also he said he has a 60" belly mower for the C and a Ford 681 he wants to sell also. I told him that I would have to come up the money but he said I could pay him payments if I wanted . I really get the feeling he wants me to buy all three . Would anyone have an idea what would be a good package price for all. I know I don't have a lot of info on them yet but would like a idea where I should start
Thanks

Not running tractors with part missing under 40 HP $300-500 each about the same price as scrap metal.

depends on overall condition. good paint job, good tires, etc., will have an effect on the selling price.

This is just my opinion as I am nuts when it comes to sinking money into old tractors but on the B and C if all it would take is to reassemble the tractors and have a good running machine then I would spend the $2K. To me buying something like this from a guy you know and trust is worth something if you really want them. If you have to buy parts and especially if you have to buy tires then its too much money. I can't say about the Ford.

Your comment reminds me of an episode of Legendary Motorcar. Peter Klutt gets a call from some guy, "Bring your trailer and Bring lots of money! Old guy had a '70 Mustang Boss 429 in pieces, Thousands of pieces. Completely tore apart. Guy swore all the parts were there, some here, some there, in this shed, that garage, engine in this pile. Old guy wouldn't let Peter inventory anything, "I want $150,000 now, or it goes on Ebay." Peter ended up around $120,000, and loaded up every pile of parts the old guy let him. As he expected, he only got about HALF the car.

A tractor in operating condition, everything works, nothing cobbled together, runs well, good tin, tires, and paint brings one price. A tractor some assembly required should have a VERY DIFFERENT price. You will be missing all kinds of clips and clamps, nuts and bolts, screws and washers, will need a manual to wire and plumb everything. Need all new seals and gaskets.

Instead of $1000 each I think $1000 for both is fair depending on what tires are included. Used sound tires with decent tread needed with both tractors at that price. Brand new tires worth more. Cracked weather checked or bald tires are worthless.
