Farmall 300 using TA want to double check

I've been reading and understand the general rule is don't use the TA if your going down a hill and going to accelerate. While I'm mowing 2nd gear works and 3rd is a little to fast if the grass is long. Was looking on line and it looks like 4th with the TA engaged will split the difference between 2nd and 3rd without the TA engaged. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this while running a mower?

Just remember that there is no hold back going down hill in low T/A.
BTW, when you shift a TA, shift it, do not try to ease it in gear,do it like you are mad at it.

No issue at all, use it in Direct (ahead) or reduction (back) makes no difference. Using it on and off is the key to keeping it operational. Move the lever rapidly
either way. Jim
