Hi!

First tractor and first post. I recently bought my first tractor about two months ago and have been trying to find information about it. I think I got a really tricky one here. Its a international 2400 series b gas motor 2.4 ?? and its great and runs great. I think its the same as a 574 or 584??? I do have some questions about it though and although i am decently knowledgeable I am kind of stuck.

I have provided some pictures with the questions.

1. Where do I put hydro fluid ? I am assuming the dip stick on the left hand side of the foot well is for the hydro. It says its low so I want to fill it up.

2. The rear doesn't have any remotes for attachments on the three point. But i think my joystick as two on the backside of it. The picture is of my joy stick payloader control which is also leaking hydro fluid. can these be split ? (first picture)

3. Right below my shuttle shift is this knob heavy metal lever. Second picture. I have absolutely no idea what that is or what it does or how it operates.

4. No picture but how to I get to shift the pto to engage. I know where the lever is but it seems stuck unwilling to move.

Thanks for the help guys. I am about to read A Corporate Tragedy the demise of IH

get a manual. the reason I say this is some tractors require special instructions on checking fluids. one I run several years (695) requires you to run at 1500 rpm for several minutes before checking, if checked cold and not run it would show several gallons low so the book instructions or some one understanding a particular model or correct answers is needed

There a big Square plug were behind the fuel tank in the middle at the top usually there's a SMV
sign bracket in the way that's were you that the oil and the dipstick is on the left side sitting on the
seat behind your foot like that picture showed parking on level ground let it set for a few minutes
and pulled out and check it and for those controls up on the loader you can get the parts through
case IH look up 2050 loader and it should have the valve on it

Hi your tractor is based on the IH 574. The engine should be a C-200 gas or D-239 Diesel.

See parts at: http://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr50613ag54830

Re Hydraulic/Transmission fluid level, check with tractor on the level and run engine for 5 minutes at 1500 RPM before checking
level with dipstick by left heel. Filler plug is behind seat on 3 pt rockshaft housing. Use only IH HyTran or equivalent
hydraulic oil.
Re lever below gear shift level, this is parking brake, make VERY sure it is disengaged before driving tractor or the parking
brake band will be chewed up in the trans/diff case.
Re PTO lever: see parts at http://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr50613ar374866
The control rod goes under the back of the seat, first check for junk that has lodged behind/under the seat, second spray
everything with your favorite penetrating lube, third see attached photo of PTO control valve on the MCV valve that is down
under the gear shift levers behind the hydraulic filter. You may have to lift the rubber boot off and spray lube on the actuator
spool to engage the PTO. DO NOT run the PTO under load if it is slipping as that will burn the PTO clutches. There is a PTO
lever and PTO hydraulic pressure setting that requires a manual, gauge and test fittings but make sure spool is moving freely.
