Looking at buying a new loader for the farm and found one that is off of an ih 460 but id like to fit it onto my 806. The seller is not sure of any markings to know the brand, can any tell from the pictures if this loader could work on an 806 with minor adaptions?

Measure across the frame rails from side to side of the engine.

That will be your only set back for mounting.

I think the 806 is 2 inches wider than the 460 at the engine.

But there may be spacers on the 460 where the front of the loader mounts to the engine rails.

I found this one on craigslist already... priced at $250 I thought it could afford some time on adapting it

Bucket looks rough.

Where are the boom cylinders?

Quick tach would be nice if you plan on taking on and off much.

Quick tach bucket would be even nicer for attachments.

Funny, my grandfather put an IH 2000 loader from a 460 on an 806. That was probably 35 years ago though so I don't remember much on the details.

Yes, 806 is 2" wider than a 460 at the frame rails. You will need to narrow the frame.

Also distance to rear axle housings is a few inches longer, and the axle housing shape is completely different on the 806. What I do remember is that he just found a chunk of scrap steel the right size and clamped it between the axle and the loader frame using longer bolts.

Those are the issues you will need to address. If you think you can tackle it, then by all means.

If used is what you want, look for a FarmHand F11. Very universal, and very rugged.

That's all well and good but one has to be for sale before you can buy it. If none are for sale close by, and the OP can't sit around waiting for one to come up for sale, they have to take what they can get, and make it work.

Are there better loaders? Yes.

Are there better loaders for sale here and now? Probably not.
