Restored hourmeter for the MD

The MD was missing its hourmeter when I restored it, so I bought one in a parts bin this year at RPRU for $5 and fixed it up.

Here are some pictures of the process. This one was made by Stewart Warner, but Veeder Root also made the same style of mechanical counter. I assume their mechanisms are very similar in design.

There isn't much info about these on the web, so hopefully this helps someone out in the future.

That is awesome never seen one. Great job!! Can you post a picture of it mounted?

A small business in my hometown matched the size and fonts of the original decals. The original numbers were in very rough shape and flaking off, so we did our best. Here is a picture of it installed on the MD.

Great job! Unfortunately the loader mount (Freeman/Interstate)for my MD runs right across the gearcase housing where the hour meter mounts so I had to take mine off and replace it with an electric one.

My Super M has one that looks like that without a door, don't think it says Stewart/Warner though, nice shape yet. Think these are called a service meter, optional electric one is called an hour meter.

I wasn't familiar with disassembling it any further. The tripping mechanism worked, so I only cleaned up the counter wheels and replaced numbers in the position
they had been in before. If I had removed each separate wheel off the shaft, then I could have potentially lost the position of where the numbers need to be when
the counter trips (they need to trip when 9 transitions to 0).

I was content with cleaning it up and replacing the numbers. Looks a lot better and can be seen working.
