Farmall A front Rims

I have 2 farmall A's, One of them has the clamp to hub rims the other has loops or whatever
they are called, that bolt directly to the hub. Which style is more desirable to have?
Reason I ask is, one is a runner the other needs alot of work and just might end up being a
parts tractor. Thanks for your opinions......Craig

i like the ones that bolt. the one with clamps seem to stay loose

I prefer the ones with the loops they do not fall off like the clamp on one can do. My BA has the loop type on it. If you do not know what my BA is it is the front half of a B and the back half of an A so that makes it a BA

Thats an interseting question. Why would you put an adjustable rim on an adjustable axle. Only thing i can come up is they were making so many tractors they just used what was on hand today. The adjustable rims were an option on the B and BN. I have had several As and both were used even go to a show and you will see the same thing. Bad thing is the rims are not inter changeable you need the hub for the rim you are using.

An adjustable rim gives you some more range of adjustment beyond what the axle provides.
