Touch control question

The hydraulic manifold tubes that connect the pump to the box under the gas tank of my super a were cut long before I bought the tractor. I'm in the process of getting it running, am I going to do damage, or any more than has been done, if I get the tractor running and driving before I fix the hydraulics? The tubes have been plugged down by the pump with what looks like eat plugs, you can see the blue string I the picture. I'm assuming it needs to be rebuilt since it's been run dry. Thanks Anthony

I would look to see if you could remove that pump completely and just RTV a sheetmetal blocking plate (with a couple of bolts) in its place.

I have not been inside the front cover of an A/SA but I'm assuming its like other engines with a helical gear drive, and that one, being at the end of the gear-train doesn't also supply power transmission to anything else.

Pull the pump. I have a super C where we don't use the hydraulics so I took the gear off the pump. Maybe yours has no gear either.

It was running before you bought it that way so why wont it run now. You will need to get the original tubes and rebuild the pump like i told you in the other post. You said you were going to use it as a puller so you dont need the hy system anyway do you. With the controls under the tank being dry they probably will need some work also.

Yeah gene, I just wanted to make sure I wasnt doing damage to other more critical things. I want to use it as a puller but I habe ideas of putting a plow on it, maybe a York rake in the future.
